In this part of the country, we get about three months of gorgeous, flavorful fruits and vegetables grown within a hundred-mile radius, and it starts right about now. The other day I spied blueberries, corn, tomatoes, cukes, all manner of peppers, and all manner of leafy greens. Also came home with the same. Heavenly.
I haven’t see these yet, but I know they’re coming soon.
And now I’m off to find my peach-blueberry cobbler recipe. It’s so easy: sliced peaches, washed blueberries, a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of sugar. Top with crumble made of flour, butter, brown sugar, and slivered almonds. Serve to the people you like best, with vanilla ice cream. Now sit back, and enjoy the compliments.
